Bonding is a fairly simple and straight-forward procedure. In fact, in most cases we don’t even need to use anesthesia, unless we’re filling a cavity – another of bonding’s uses. Depending on the complexity of a given case, bonding usually takes thirty minutes to an hour.
After roughening the part of the tooth we’re working on, we apply a bonding agent that will a composite resin material to the tooth. Once the resin is in place it’s molded into shape and hardened with an ultraviolet light.
Finally, the composite material is polished into its final appearance. We’re generally able to match its color to the color of your teeth, so when we’re done the treated area is virtually indistinguishable.
